2017 Overnight – Washington, DC

TO THE WONDERFUL 2017
TOMMY FUSS TEAM

WE DID IT!!  Thank you to each and every one of you for participating in the Tommy Fuss Team’s 11th Overnight Walk.  I hope you have all made it home safely and will get a good night’s sleep tonight.  I hope last night was a meaningful night for you, and I hope that you found strength and comfort knowing that what we are doing will help those who are suffering from a disease we know so little about and help to save precious lives.  Together — as walkers and crew — we were successful in raising awareness, supporting survivors and raise money for the important work of the AFSP.  We proudly raised over $56,000 this year!  Thank you for your fundraising efforts and your own personal donations.

Thank you for remembering and honoring Tommy in this special way — you are truly a wonderful team and you are truly making a difference.  And above all, thank you to RoseMary and Dan for hosting our annual team luncheon and being our backbone and support.  As I said last year…their courage, strength and love are truly the “wind beneath our wings” as we journey together — one step at a time — to bring issues of mental health and suicide Out of the Darkness.

With sincerest regards and thanks,
Valerie

Finding Purpose in the Overnight Walk

This year the Tommy Fuss Team celebrates eleven years of walking, fundraising and outreach. In early 2016 RoseMary Fuss wrote a piece for the AFSP site about our team and how we operate. It is as true and relevant today as it was a year ago. “Finding Purpose in the Overnight Walk.” But the statistics have changed. Over the last 11 years we have had 77 team members walk a total of 2,952 miles with 17 crew members. Together, we have raised over $510,000 for AFSP.
