2014 Overnight – Philadelphia June 28 – 29

The Tommy Fuss Team will walk again in 2014 in the Out of the Darkness Overnight this June in Philadelphia. It will be the eighth year our team participates. Each Overnight consists of an 18 mile journey through the night begun at dusk and finishing at dawn. This year the AFSP is sponsoring Overnight Walks on both coasts. The Tommy Fuss Team will also be represented in the 2014 Seattle Out of the Darkness Overnight Walk the weekend of June 14 – 15th.

The symbolism is compelling and clear. We walk through darkness that reminds us of the pain and isolation suffered by those we have lost and those who are struggling with mental illness today.

We reach our goal as the rising sun embraces us with light and warmth. This is the hope that by taking action — raising awareness and money — we can help find effective treatments for the prevention of suicide.

We walk to remember and honor our beloved Tommy, and all those whose lives have been lost to suicide.

June 15th Update: Gene Nelson has completed his Overnight Walk in Seattle. For more info and photos, go here.
